A DAY OF APPLICATION

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”   James 1:22

I hope that the past 13 days have been both challenging and informative. My hope and prayer was that God would speak to you each day and draw you into His plan of redeeming the lost. I would have no greater joy than to see His people surrender to Him and participate with me in this great salvation plan!

Each day I gave you some questions to be answered and I hope you didn’t short-cut the process. The purpose of those questions was to get you thinking about what we had studied that particular day. The prayer points were to be used as a guide as you lifted up your heart before God.

The purpose of this day is to apply the things that we have learned throughout the week and to prepare us for our Sunday Night Church Wide Forum. The purpose of the forums is for us to brain-storm together about how our church is going to put into practice what we have been studying. This is God’s vision for us and now we need to organize our church around that vision.

Okay, let me get you thinking for a moment. If we are going to reach the lost and be obedient to the Great Commission what will that obedience look like? Apply the truth to life. Examples:

          1.  We will be a church of individuals who purposely and consistently seek opportunities to personally share the gospel with people we come in contact with on a daily basis.

          2.  We will have an active outreach ministry as a part of our church ministries.

          3.  We will plan evangelistic events throughout the year that will draw lost people so that we can share the gospel with them.

          4.  We will make sure that we will have at least two evangelic teaching seminars each year.

Do you get the picture? Today I want you to brainstorm and then bring your ideas to the church forum. So we can work together to reach the lost in our community!

Prayer

Ask the Father to give you ideas on how to reach the lost in our community. Ask Him to give you a heart of compassion for them. Ask Him to guide our church forum meeting this week.
